Dragon*Con, one of the world's largest conventions for fans of science fiction, fantasy, comic books, anime, gaming, and everything else that's just a little bit nerdy (or a whole lot nerdy) is just around the corner, and the JREF will be there! The incomparable Derek and Swoopy of Skepticality are once again hosting a weekend-long Skeptrack chock full of science and skepticism goodness.  If you're there, be sure to stop by the JREF table and check out some of the Skeptrack panels on which we'll be appearing.

JREF President D.J. Grothe will be moderating "Educating/Debunking: What's the Difference?" with panelists Barbara Drescher, Kylie Sturgess, Chip Denman, Matt Lowry, and Brian Hart. And I will be hosting panelists Phil Plait, Rebecca Watson, George Hrab, and Blake Smith on "Wait, Wait, Don't Fool Me!", a comedic news quiz that is absolutely, 100%, in no way whatsoever anything like another, similarly named news quiz on public radio.

Dragon*Con will be held September 2-5 in Atlanta, Georgia.  Don't miss it!

On Friday, September 9, I'll also be the guest on Brian Gregory's Virtual Drinking Skeptically, to talk as JREF's field coordinator about our many outreach projects for grassroots skeptics.

September 22-30 will see James Randi himself embarking on his whirlwind lecture tour across Canada.  Find out more right here.

And Randi and D.J. will be appearing at CSICon in New Orleans, Louisiana October 27-30.

Watch this space for more updates about some of the exciting skeptical projects and events coming from the JREF and our friends!
