Early Sunday morning I did something that I should have done a while ago. I permanently banned someone from this blog that had been causing a great deal of disruption. I want to apologize to you, Dear Reader, for not having done this sooner.

Unfortunately, I had personal reasons for allowing her to stay as long as I did. Five years ago I was a dyed-in-the-wool Woo-Woo Fluffy Bunny of the first order. I thought I was psychic. I thought that I was helping people as an Usui and Karuna Reiki Master. I thought that I was helping people with crystal healing. I know better now thanks to our own James Randi, George Hrab and Penn & Teller and have been a skeptic for over four years. I kept hoping that she might really be open to seeing evidence and learning. So I gave her more chances than I should have, mostly because I saw myself in her.

As Randi once said, I’m a nice person. Sometimes I suffer from an overabundance of it (my words, not his).

To avoid situations like this in the future, I would like to officially lay out the three rules I try to run this blog by.

1)    No Spam. It will be deleted from the blog and the account will be banned.

2)    Please maintain civility. No direct profane name-calling. I understand that arguments get heated and I’ll allow occasional leeway if an apology follows but please don’t make a habit of it. If I have to warn you more than a couple times, I will be forced to ban the account.

3)    Any threats of physical violence will lead to immediate, permanent banning, no exceptions.

If you have questions, suggestions, or just want to talk about skepticism you can always reach me via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
