Questions and Answers:

CAN I APPLY?
No, our program closed early this year as we're unable to meet the current demands of those who have already applied.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?
The Forum Grant program is open to anyone cannot afford to come to TAM on their own means.

HOW IS THE MONEY SPLIT UP?
Every time we raise enough money to pay for a TAM8 registration, an award is given on a first come, first served basis. Any money left over will be applied to next year's scholarship. If for any reason money is unable to be awarded, it will become a donation to the JREF.

IS THIS A CONTEST?
No. You will not be asked to submit an essay or any financial records. We trust that if you apply, you are someone who honestly needs the money or would otherwise be unable to attend TAM8.

HOW DO WE KNOW THE MONEY IS GOING TO SCHOLARSHIPS?
We wish to preserve the privacy of those who apply and those who donate, so we can't offer any form of proof that a scholarship was awarded. If you trust the JREF, rest assured that the money is going to people who need it.

WHO STARTED THE FORUM GRANTS?
This scholarship is the result of a grassroots effort by several caring members of the JREF community who didn't want money to be a barrier to those who are passionate about the mission of the JREF. It is rather informal, but has worked well in years past.
